Arash Mostofi is a Senior Lecturer and RCUK Fellow in the Departments of Materials and Physics at Imperial College London. His research is dedicated to the development and application of first-principles modelling tools for the theory and simulation of materials, with a particular interest in energy materials, and defects and interfaces in nanostructures.

Arash is also the Deputy Director of the Centre for Doctoral Training on Theory and Simulation of Materials, and he sits on the Executive Committee of the Thomas Young Centre (TYC), the London Centre for Theory and Simulation of Materials, with overall responsibility for its programme of scientific events.

NEW: PhD Position in Theory and Simulation of Complex Oxide Materials: A 4-year PhD position, fully-funded for UK and EU students, is available in the Departments of Physics and Materials. The project will focus on the fundamental structural and electronic properties of perovskite oxide surfaces, interfaces and thin films in order to develop a detailed understanding of the properties of ferroelectrics.
