I am the Computational Science Specialist for the Thomas Young Centre and Condensed Matter Theory Group at Imperial College. I support the group workstations, help with programming and other computational problems and spend half my time doing research in a variety of areas.
Previously, I was a PhD student under the supervision of Ali Alavi doing research in electronic structure of periodic and extended systems.
I recently led a discussion on software development practices at Daresbury Laboratory: slides and minutes (provided by Dr Joanne Carr) are available. The git bisect example mentioned in the minutes can be downloaded here.
