Peter is Professor of Theory and Simulation of Materials at Imperial, having joined the College in June 2007 on his appointment to a Readership held jointly between the departments of Materials and Physics. He is associated with the Thomas Young Centre for the Theory and Simulation of Materials and the London Centre for Nanotechnology. He held a Royal Society University Research Fellowship from 2005-13 and won the 2010 Maxwell Medal and Prize for his research on linear-scaling methods for electronic structure calculations.
